THE MOGILEV REGIONAL ART MUSEUM NAMED AFTER P. MASLENNIKOV, MOGILEV, BELARUS
The museum housed in the building of the architectural monument of the early 20th century, which combines the features of art nouveau, pseudo-Russian, and late classicism architectural styles (the architect A.V. Druker). In 1994, Pavel Vasilievich Maslenikov donated 125 works of painting and theater decorative art to the city of Mogilyov. The history of the National Historical Museum started with the Minsk Regional Museum whose creation became possible after the proclamation of Belarusian Soviet statehood. It was open in the former Nobility Assembly building in 1919. Every year, the museum collection grows by 2 or 3 thousand depository items. In recent years, the museum collection augmented considerably: as of today, it achieved the number of 400 thousand depository items. The museum items are distributed among 49 collections including archaeology, ethnography, numismatics, arms, porcelain and glass, old printed books and manuscripts, posters, precious metals and gems, treasures, documents, fine Arts, national clothes, and others.
THE CHUVASH STATE ART MUSEUM, CHEBOKSARY, CHUVASHIA
The Chuvash State Art Museum was founded in 1939 as the Chuvash State Art Gallery after being separated from the city’s regional museum. The museum has over 20,000 examples of works of art, including Russian, Soviet and international pieces. It also has a large collection of Chuvash national art, especially examples of Chuvash decorative-applied art. The building on Ulitsa Kalinina, which runs south of Krasnaya Ploschad, is the main building of the museum and there are also several branches in the city.

Astrakhan Art Gallery is the first Astrakhan art museum based by P.M. Dogadin who has donated his collection of paintings to his native town in 1918. Since 1924 the Gallery is situated in the three-storied building, the former Plotnikov’s Town Estate, the architectural monument of the 19-20 centuries. The Gallery’s collection consists of more than 19,547 thousand storage units. The most significant exhibits are the pictures by Rokotov, Levitsky, Brullov, Venetsianov, Schedrin, Kuindzy, Levitan, Savrasov, Shishkin, Nesterov, Malevich, Kandinsky, Rerikh, Korovin and others. Foreign Art is presented by the collection of 17-20 centuries (almost 8000).
THE VELIMIR KHLEBNIKOV MUSEUM, A BRANCH OF THE ASTRAKHAN STATE ART GALLERY, ASTRAKHAN, RUSSIA

The museum was established in 1914 by the members of a local society of fans of the fine arts, as a monument to the artist, Vasily Vereschagin. The first collection of the museum was placed in the former guardroom of a military department. It included works which were donated by the Academy of Arts, Alexander’s III Russian museum, and items which were sent by V. V. Vereschagin’s widow, Lydia Vasilyevna. On the eve of the Great Patriotic War, the collection museum totaled almost 100,000 works.
THE NATIONAL MUSEUM AFTER THE NAME OF A. SHEPTYTSKY , LVIV, UKRAINA
The Lviv National Museum is one of Ukraine’s largest museums, dedicated to Ukrainian culture in all its manifestations. It was established by Metropolitan Archbishop Andrey Sheptytsky in 1905 and was originally known as the Lwow Ecclesiastical Museum. It currently bears Sheptytsky’s name. The founder donated some 10,000 items to the museum and raised the funds required for it. After the World War II, the museum was renamed the Lviv Museum of Ukrainian Art. The collection was augmented by adding a number of exhibits confiscated from other Lviv museums.
